Current Opportunities
We are committed to building an inclusive, supportive research community and welcome students from all backgrounds, including those historically underrepresented in engineering and the sciences.
We have open opportunities for students interested in environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment, environmental chemistry, and electrochemistry. Please reach out to discuss your interests—we look forward to meeting you and learning together!
Undergraduates
We welcome undergraduate researchers through several University of Washington programs.
- UW Undergraduate Research Program (URP): Support and placement for undergraduate research across campus
- Mary Gates Research Scholarship: Competitive scholarships supporting undergraduate research
Graduate students
We work with students in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering PhD program. Full-time PhD students are supported through research and teaching assistantships and departmental fellowships—see the CEE funding page for details. We also welcome students from allied programs across the university.
Postdoctoral researchers
We are happy to support prospective postdoctoral researchers in developing fellowship applications. Please reach out to discuss potential projects and funding.
